Tackle

Project ongoing, from December 2023 to December 2027

What is it about?

“Tackle” reinvigorates European democracy by championing the values of equality, solidarity, human dignity, freedom, and respect for human rights. Spearheaded by youth participation and prioritising the rights of racialised people and groups in the European Union, the project fuels the rise of young activism against discrimination and structural racism. It cultivates a constructive trans-Mediterranean narrative, fostering a relation of reciprocity against post-colonial inequalities in the region. “Tackle” also harnesses awareness-raising actions around significant EU events, such as the European Parliament elections, to amplify its impact.

“Tackle” empowers young activists through legal and social training, advocacy, capacity building and other forms of Global Citizenship Education, addressing the structural causes of inequalities. The project connects young people across the Mediterranean, catalysing a more inclusive society with a heightened sense of co-responsibility for global and local inequalities.

What changes does this project inspire?

“Tackle” sparks transformative change by cultivating a new generation of “equality advocates” among students and groups impacted by racism and discrimination. “Tackle” redefines the narratives around migration, incorporates a gender perspective on social issues, and emboldens youth and grassroots civil society organisations, amplifying their advocacy and campaigning skills.
