Sincerely, Food

Project complete, from October 2017 to March 2021

What is it about?

Households generate the largest amount of food waste in the food chain. Awareness plays an integral role in motivating people to adopt new approaches. A minority of people believe that households can make an impact to reduce food waste. In Lithuania, for example, only 44% of those surveyed felt households could make a difference. The “Sincerely, Food” project provided European consumers with useful tips and motivated them to change their habits for waste reduction.

What changes does this project inspire?

The seven participating NGOs increased their competences on global learning approaches to food waste. Educational materials on a global approach to food waste were developed and used by households, educational professionals and NGOs. Over two million people, including multipliers, learned about how to reduce food waste and thus contribute to a cleaner planet.
