Make Europe Sustainable for All

Project complete, from July 2017 to September 2020

What is it about?

“Make Europe Sustainable for All” strengthened civil society’s ability to campaign on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Working closely with the “SDG Watch Europe” coalition, the project helped develop national campaign coalitions across three thematic campaigns: 1) #GoodFoodforAll on SDG2 (Zero Hunger), 2) #FightInequalities around SDG10 and 3) sustainable food systems and #WardrobeChange on SDG12 (Responsible Consumption and Production).
“Make Europe Sustainable for All” informed the European public about SDG implementation by the EU and Member States. It highlighted the importance of SDGs to citizens and political leaders through annual SDG action weeks with publicity stunts, SDG conferences and debates and a Global Day of Action on the anniversary of the SDGs and the 2030 Agenda.

What changes does this project inspire?

“Make Europe Sustainable for All” strengthened the pan-European CSO Coalition « SDG Watch Europe » and trained its members. Over 3 760 CSOs and 3 850 local groups across the European Union built capacities and learned about the SDGs and Agenda 2030 through over 96 000 project activities. A powerful pan-European campaign reached out to citizens through various communication channels over 829 million times, informed 25 million citizens, with 2 million citizens directly engaged. “Make Europe Sustainable for All” also reached over 4 000 policy-makers and motivated them to act towards SDG implementation.
