GEGL – Global Education Goes Local

Project complete, from November 2017 to January 2021

What is it about?

“Global Education Goes Local” worked with organisations and individuals in small communities, running quality global citizenship education activities and campaigns, notably with young people. The project encouraged European citizens to take a more active role towards meeting the challenges of the interdependent world. “Global Education Goes Local” partners agreed to take specific measures to ground global education on the very local level.

What changes does this project inspire?

Educational and community bodies in small localities became more aware, educated about global issues, and competent to run related learning-action processes. More specifically, the local communities developed awareness about global issues related to SDGs and interconnectedness to their local realities. Young people in small communities around Europe built more competencies on global issues and became multipliers, engaging their peers globally.
