Fashioning a Just Transition

Project ongoing, from January 2024 to December 2027

What is it about?

“Fashioning a Just Transition” promotes sustainable and just practices in the global fashion industry. The project highlights the interconnectedness of consumer demands, worker rights, and environmental concerns. The project aims to build a global movement to advocate for a just transition to transform the fashion industry. It zooms in on workers’ rights and ecological protection, as well as operating within planetary boundaries.

What changes does this project inspire?

“Fashioning a Just Transition” encourages concrete actions and policy changes in the fashion industry. Through a “Manifesto for a Just Transition”, workshops, forums, and campaigns, the project advocates for fair treatment, living wages and stable employment, especially for vulnerable groups. It empowers young and female workers to advocate for systemic change in the fashion industry – through Global Citizenship Education principles that unite activists worldwide.
“Fashioning a Just Transition” equips 15-35-year-olds with the tools and knowledge to make informed choices, take action, and advocate for a more sustainable, socially responsible fashion industry. The project strives to create a future where fashion production and consumption align with the principles of fairness, sustainability, and social responsibility.
