Faces of Migration

Project complete, from March 2019 to June 2022

What is it about?

“Faces of Migration” focused on the rights and responsibilities of migrants, and their inclusion in society. The project was built on the conviction that migrants can play an active role in societies and improve the economic and social conditions of local communities. The project trained multipliers and journalists in seven EU Member States to report on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and their connection with migration. “Faces of Migration” addressed decision-makers and raised awareness of EU citizens on migrants’ rights and SDGs.

What changes does this project inspire?

Some 26 000 multipliers gained skills and capacities to carry out awareness-raising actions in local communities and via the media. Together with nearly 1 000 journalists, they addressed nearly 3 000 decision-makers. Public pressure, inspired by the “Faces of Migration” campaigns and media work, continues to encourage policy and decision-makers to be better informed about the SDGs, migrant rights and inclusion.
