What is it about?

“Don’t Waste Our Future” enhanced young people’s critical understanding and sense of responsibility for sustainable models of consumption. It highlighted the striking dimension of food waste. The project inspired a public debate, actions and supported them to become agents of change.

What changes does this project inspire?

“Don’t Waste Our Future” contributed to the 1st European Forum against Food Waste at the Milan EXPO 2015. 120 students, 45 teachers and 25 local authorities from seven European countries co-created and launched a join European Manifesto to promote food waste reduction and the global right to food: “DON’T WASTE OUR FUTURE Charter 2015”.
The Forum was the culmination of a development education process, which integrated global learning approaches in formal education. 1 500 young people and 55 local authorities connected and exchanged ideas in 160 meetings, covering didactic modules, workshops and participatory laboratories to combat food waste.
